Our five-week group dog training course in Buderim helps puppies and older dogs build life skills. We teach you to train your dog, from attention and recall to loose-lead walking, with manageable practice at home and ongoing support throughout the course.

Before you choose
- You learn from us and teach your dog. The whole family is encouraged to come along.
- For puppies and dogs over 12 weeks who are comfortable learning in a group.
- For significant fear, aggression or distress, start with behaviour support.
Already have a Puppy Pack or another included course? Arrange your included place rather than paying again.
Is group learning right for us?
A welcoming place to practise.
Puppies and older dogs from 12 weeks are welcome when group learning is suitable. You attend with your dog and practise between sessions; we make sure that you have all the assistance you need outside class with our e-learning companion course and access to our private Facebook group.
For younger puppies, we offer individual puppy support to help you get off to a great start.
If behaviour is worrying you
If your dog is very fearful, has bitten or may put another dog or person at risk, start with individual behaviour support before enrolling.
Explore behaviour supportPlease follow your own vet’s advice about vaccination and when your dog can safely attend. Padfoot does not check vaccination records; the decision to attend rests with you, guided by your vet.
What you and your dog will learn
Good training is about making everyday life easier together. In Foundation, you’ll practise four useful skills with guidance from your Padfoot trainers:
Attention and focus
Teach your dog to turn their attention back to you when you ask, including when other things are happening nearby.
Walking to heel
Practise having your dog walk close beside you when you need extra control, such as passing people or other dogs.
Coming when called
Build a more reliable response when you call your dog back.
You’ll learn how to practise each skill with your own dog, understand what to do when it doesn’t go to plan, and have clear exercises to continue between classes. Dogs learn at different rates; the aim is to give you the skills and support to keep making progress after the course.

Sunday morning courses and selected Wednesday evening courses. New cohorts start regularly; always check the listed dates and times before enrolling.

Arrive no more than 10 minutes before your class starts, and keep your dog on lead with space from other dogs.
What to bring
- A learning lead and a long line. Both are available to purchase at your first class.
- High-value treats your dog enjoys.
- Water and poo bags.

For reactive dogs, we recommend a clearly marked vest to help others give them space. A vest does not replace checking whether a group class is suitable; book a behaviour assessment if you are concerned.
Before you book

What if we miss a session?
Choose a time you can commit to for the whole course. If you need to miss a week or two, don’t worry, you can follow along at home using our companion e-learning course. You cannot cancel or defer your enrolment once a course has commenced (with vet-certified exceptions).
What happens after Foundation?
You can continue in separate higher-level classes through life membership.
Can I use Afterpay?
