What does this course cover?
This course covers the basic skills of giving attention on request, coming when called, lying down when instructed, staying, and walking nicely on a loose lead – all around distractions.
Once these skills are learned, participants can then progress onto our Intermediate, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum levels if you wish. These higher levels are open to Padfoot Life Members only, so if you’re already feeling motivated check this option out to save $$$s.
Are classes really busy?
Class numbers at this level are capped (12 dogs : 2 instructors) to ensure that each and every attendee receives the attention they need. Enrolment in this course also automatically gives lifetime access to our e-learning system and online support group. Spaces fill very quickly and early enrolment is advised to avoid disappointment.
Is my dog old enough (or too old) for classes?
Puppies less than 12 weeks of age, sadly you need to wait until you’re old enough! But your people can always book our Best Start Puppy Value Pack instead which includes a private, in-home lesson to get you started until you’re old enough to join the fun! We start courses every few weeks so you won’t have to wait long!
Older dogs of any age are welcome in class. You’re never too old to learn something and have some fun.
My dog is nervous and reactive around other dogs / people. Can we still join in?
Most nervous and reactive dogs can greatly benefit from joining in with regular group classes and are more than welcome at PADFOOT.
If your dog is extremely nervous or dangerously reactive, you should schedule a behavioural assessment before enrolling so we can make sure this is the best course of action for your particular dog and answer any questions you may have.
What is the Padfoot Pack Life membership offer?
You can also consider our Life Membership option and save $$$s over your dog’s learning journey. Only Padfoot Life Members can participate in our Intermediate and higher levels so if you’re feeling motivated, make sure you join as a Life Member now.
Can I get extra help during group classes?
If you’re really worried about how your dog will go during group classes, you can schedule a personal ‘helping hand’ appointment during your class time where one of our dedicated trainers will work directly with you for the duration of the class to provide that extra helping hand when you need it. You must already be enrolled in a course to take advantage of this offer.
Slots are limited. First come, first served. Make sure you book asap to get the help you want, when you want it.
Why should I choose Padfoot instead of ANOTHER dog trainer on the coast?
As professional animal behaviourists, Padfoot has a dog-welfare-centric approach to training. We emphasise the quality of your relationship with your dog and the development of skills that will keep your dog safe and happy. To understand the differences between behaviourists and dog trainers, please check out this article.
As an applied animal behaviour practice owned and operated by experts holding postgraduate qualifications in animal science, we know what we’re talking about. And, as professional educators, we’re extremely skilled at making everything easy for both you and your dog to understand. Because it’s our mission to help as many dogs as we can, we keep our prices affordable too!
If you’re at all uncertain if we’re right for you, check out our 100% authentic 5* reviews above before booking.
